Main deities. The Hindu trinity consists of Brahma the Creator, Vishnu the Preserver, and Shiva the Destroyer. Their feminine counterparts are Saraswati, the wife of Brahma, Lakshmi, the wife of Vishnu, and Parvati the wife of Shiva. The followers of the last two form two major sects.

Other Hindu deities include Lakshmi,Hanuman,Krishna,Rama,Ganesha,Saraswati,Durga Devi,Indra,Surya,and Agni.

Buddha clearly stated not to worship deities. According to Buddhism, they are just another kind of living beings. … So even though Buddhism says there are deities, they have nothing to do with the core beliefs in Buddhism.

Worship involves religious acts of praise, honour and devotion, usually directed towards a deity or another figure worthy of this degree of respect. Most Buddhists do not believe in God. Although they respect and look up to the Buddha , they do not believe he was a god but they worship him as a form of respect.

In Tantric Buddhism (Vajrayana), there are five primary Buddhas: Vairocana, Aksobhya, Ratnasambhava, Amitābha, and Amoghasiddhi.
