This lovely Orange and Brown Mala is a rosary consisting of a strand of 108 beads.
The Mala is used for keeping count during Mantra meditations.
Used both in Buddhism and Hinduism for centuries.
This practice is known in Sanskrit as japa.
The correct way to use the mala is draped over the middle finger of the right hand, and the thumb is used to flick one bead to the next.
The index finger should never be used as it represents ego, the greatest block to Self-Realization.
